Sango is Ready to Voyage Across the Waters

It was just a short time ago that Baba started working on the Sango carving. A few new moons and full moons have passed, shining down on the face of the great warrior,Kabiyesi Sango, as he lay on top the wooden support poles. Each day Sango came more and more to life as Baba breathed life into his head, legs and hands. After the cutting, carving, sanding and great attention to all details, Sango is finally ready to make the journey across the waters to the private collector who commissioned the carving. We of the Akangbe family are very proud to count fans and collectors of our works from all over the globe, and we know that when someone commissions a piece of art from us, it is something that is deeply loved and appreciated and will be handed down for generations.
